Wind energy, a clean and inexhaustible resource
Wind turbines use wind, a clean and renewable energy source, to generate electricity. Wind energy has many advantages over other energy sources. In fact, wind energy:
- Is a renewable and inexhaustible energy source.
- Contributes to greenhouse gas reduction and thus fights climate change.
- Reduces our dependence on fossil fuel imports.
- Is compatible with land for multiple uses, such as pasturage, agriculture, forestry, hunting, etc.
- The use of wind energy to power 200 households with electricity (2,000,000 KWh), instead of burning coal, means that 900,000 kilograms of coal will remain in the ground and that greenhouse gases will be reduced annually by 2000 tonnes, the equivalent of removing 417 cars from the road or planting 10,000 trees.*
